The word “use” refers to reading, copying, downloading, installing, accessing, and otherwise benefiting from this same electronic book. If you order it, the use of a paperback version of this electronic book is subject to the same restrictions defined herein for the electronic book.

Customer enters into this agreement as an individual, as a natural person. Customer hereby acknowledges that he or she is not entering into this agreement as an organization (corporation, government agency, non-profit organization, etc.), nor is he or she representing, or acting as an agent for, such an organization. The electronic book is licensed only to individuals for their personal use, in the employment position they find themselves in at the time of purchase. If the customer is representing, or acting as an agent for, an organization, he or she must not order this new report.

The electronic book, including any copies that customer may make, is owned exclusively by, and is the intellectual property belonging to the publisher. This copyrighted work is protected by intellectual property laws, including the copyright laws of the United States and other countries, as well as international copyright treaties and conventions. With the exception of those rights and privileges expressly granted herein, customer has no rights to use this electronic book.

The publisher, with this license, grants to the customer the non-exclusive limited right to access, read, print, summarize, and condense the ideas contained in this copyrighted material for the development of internal plans and activities related to the transition away from gasoline and petro-diesel fuels. Customer agrees that he or she is purchasing the electronic book for, and will use the electronic book only for internal management purposes at one specific organization. Customer acknowledges that use of the electronic book for commercial purposes such as management consulting at multiple organizations, public speaking to an audience outside his or her organization, training programs outside his or her organization, and marketing of any products or services outside of his or her organization, is a violation of this license agreement.

Customer agrees not to make any electronic copies of this electronic book for any other parties. Customer may make multiple copies of the electronic book for his or her own personal use. These copies may be stored on an office computer, a home computer, a portable computer, a back-up server, or storage media (CD-ROMs, DVDs, thumb drives, etc.). Customer may make, or may allow software to automatically make, regular archival backups, and these may involve any number of copies, so long as these archival copies are not available for use by any party other than customer. All copies must be access controlled so that only the customer, and perhaps a systems administrator acting as the customer’s technical assistant, is able to access them. If a systems administrator is employed to assist the customer, customer understands that absolutely no rights to use the content in this electronic book are conveyed to the systems administrator. If such a systems administrator is used by customer, customer agrees to inform the systems administrator, at the time that he or she first gains access to the electronic book, that this electronic book is restricted and copyrighted material subject to the terms of this license. Copying and otherwise disseminating this electronic book, in a manner in any way different from those ways mentioned in this Terms And Conditions agreement, is expressly forbidden and violates this license.

Under the terms of this license, the customer is permitted to print a single copy of this electronic book for his or her own personal use. The customer is not permitted to print copies that are intended for other people. Customer may make and have, at any one time, only one printed copy of this electronic book. Before printing a replacement copy for a worn-out or damaged printed copy, the previous print copy must be discarded, and preferably destroyed.

Any other copying, broadcasting, duplicating, republishing, display, distribution, dissemination, downloading, transmission, transferring, or movement of the electronic book to a computer system or a network is a violation of the terms of this license. Furthermore, customer agrees that he or she will not store, post, or submit this electronic book to an intranet server, an extranet server, an external public server, an Internet discussion group, an ftp site, an Internet web site, or any other location accessible by persons other than the customer. For example, if the electronic book can be reached by software operated by a search engine such as Google, it is a violation of this license agreement.

Customer agrees that this license is not transferable to other people. He or she additionally agrees that he or she will not rent, lease, sublicense, assign, or otherwise transfer any rights with respect to this electronic book. Customer furthermore agrees that he or she will not adapt, translate, or modify the content contained in this electronic book for any purpose other than the development of internal plans and activities related to transitioning away from gasoline and petro-diesel. Customer also agrees that he or she will not prepare, develop, compile, or otherwise assist with the development of any derivative works which rely on the content contained in this electronic book. Customer may however reference material in this electronic book for scholastic and professional reference purposes, as long as proper attribution is given, and as long as no plagiarism is involved.

By proceeding with a purchase, customer acknowledges that this electronic book may contain errors and/or other inaccuracies. Although every reasonable effort to ensure that the report is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant to business, has already been undertaken by both the author and the publisher, by proceeding with this purchase, the customer accepts the report “as is.” This means that neither the author nor the publisher provides any type of warrantee or guarantee, whether explicit or implied. The customer therefore acknowledges that he or she, and/or the customer’s organization, bears the entire risk for the implementation of the ideas contained in the report. This means that neither the publisher, nor the author, will be liable, under any theory of law, for damages suffered by the customer, the customer’s organization, or any affiliated parties. This agreement will be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, USA. Customer agrees that any legal action or proceedings related to the electronic book will be brought exclusively in a federal or state court of competent jurisdiction sitting in California. Any cause of action or claim that customer may have with respect to this electronic book must be brought within one (1) year after the purchase is made, or else such a claim or cause is barred. The publisher’s failure to insist upon or enforce strict performance of any provision of this agreement is not a waiver of any provision or right. If any part of this agreement is found by a court to be void and unenforceable, it will not affect the validity of the balance of the agreement, which shall remain both valid and enforceable according to the unaffected terms and conditions.
